THE STORY
Rooted in agriculture.
Growing with intention.
HuskGrow began with the lessons of family farming in India: respect the land, understand your materials and think beyond a single season. Coconut and areca plantations shaped that perspective. Today, it informs our ambition to help UK growers make thoughtful choices about what they grow in.
We begin with coconut coir, exploring the potential of an agricultural by-product as a growing material. Our promise is an approach: ask good questions, build clear specifications and keep improving. Our purpose is to make responsible growing practical.
The design language
Use forest green for the wordmark, core text and calls to action. Give oat generous space. Leaf adds botanical warmth; coconut and clay connect the identity to the husk. Pair expressive Georgia headlines with restrained DM Sans body text. The site uses a system serif and a Google Fonts sans-serif with a local Arial fallback.
Photography should feel close to the material: coir fibres, husks, roots and developing plants in natural light. Use real farm and product photographs when available. Never present generated images as evidence of sourcing, product performance or actual facilities.
A clear, honest voice
Professional, warm and specific. Say “peat-free growing media” and “specifications confirmed per product”. Avoid “zero impact”, “planet-saving”, invented certifications and untested performance promises.
Commerce recommendation
Start with WooCommerce and its official Stripe extension for a manageable UK store with cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. The commerce software is open source; Stripe is a paid payment service. For an extensively customised trade portal, consider Medusa with Stripe.
